A privileged land

This wine region has always benefited from a privileged climate. The geographical location of Castelló’s lands means that it has mild temperatures, aided by the influence of the sea, and unbeatable insolation. The very little rainfall in the summer months make the grapes reach good sugar levels, which result in wines characterised by optimal alcoholic strength.

An ancient tradition to discover

Wineries currently working in the wine region are inheritors of an ancient tradition, which, through the Romans routes, brought the wines created in this land to every corner of the ancient world. Today, visitors can discover the art of making wine through the hand of its producers, traveling through the same landscapes that captivated the ancient Romans.

A quality mark

The IGP Castelló brand covers a wine production area made up of three geographical units: The Alt Palància-Alt Millars, Sant Mateu and Useres-Vilafamés wine regions. The varieties grown are mainly red like Mourvedre, Garnatxa Negra and Tintorera, Boval, Syrah or Cabernet Sauvignon; and the white wines Macabeu, Muscat of Alexandria or Chardonnay, excellent quality wines, marked by the personality gifted from a privileged climate and terroir.
